The koinobori is a koi carp-shaped windsock that can be seen billowing in the air, all over Japan, on Children's Day, May 5th. Through this symbolic object, parents encourage their children to be strong and valorous, and wish them lifelong happiness, prosperity, joy and good health.
Strong and powerful irezumi. Here is a koinobori that the Ainu would have brandished in the Jōmon period to protect themselves against spirits. The koi comes in a beautiful, folded envelope and makes a perfect and thoughtful gift.
The windsock is made in Global Organic Textile Standard-certified cotton.
